Last year I took my daughter to the doctor and found out she has allergies. Her allergies normally show up year-round. Take Care Clinics Offer Back-to-School Physicals For $35

Do you have a Take Care Clinic (located at select Walgreens) near you? In an effort to make getting a back-to-school physical convenient and affordable, Take Care Clinics, located at select Walgreens drugstores throughout the country, will be offering back-to-school and sports physicals for only $35 through September 30. Families or groups with two or more children, who arrive at the Take Care Clinic together, can receive back-to-school physicals for $30.

TAKE CARE CLINICS NOW OFFERING CONVENIENT BACK-TO-SCHOOL AND SPORTS PHYSICALS

Physicals Available For $35 Through September 30

CONSHOHOCKEN, PA –With back-to-school time right around the corner, Take Care Health Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Walgreens (NYSE, NASDAQ: WAG) and the nation’s largest and most comprehensive manager of convenient care clinics and worksite health and wellness centers, is now offering back-to-school physicals at Take Care Clinics nationwide. The physicals are administered by board certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants and are available for $35 through September 30, 2010. Families or groups with two or more children, who arrive at the Take Care Clinic together, can receive back-to-school physicals for $30 each.

Back-to-school physicals conducted at Take Care Clinics are a holistic exam of the physical and mental well-being of a student. During the physical, a Take Care Health provider will assess a student’s height, weight, body mass index, vision and other information while also discussing and providing counseling on immunizations and high-risk behaviors. State requirements for back-to-school physicals vary. Parents and guardians can talk to a school official or a Take Care Health professional to learn what’s appropriate for their child.

“This is a busy time for parents and children who are tackling their back-to-school checklists,” said Sandra Festa Ryan, RN, MSN, CPNP, FAANP, chief nurse practitioner officer for Take Care Health Systems. “Take Care Clinics offer physicals and high-quality health care services with ease and simplicity for patients and families – ensuring access to trusted clinicians, who can discuss medical history, perform comprehensive exams, administer appropriate vaccinations and provide guidance on living and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”


Take Care Clinics are professional walk-in health care centers located in more than 350 Walgreens drug stores across the country. Clinics are open seven days a week, including evenings and weekends, giving patients the option to access a variety of health care services, such as back-to-school physicals, at their convenience. No appointment is necessary.
Back-to-school season is also a great time to ensure children are up-to-date on vaccines. Take Care nurse practitioners and physician assistants can administer appropriate immunizations for school-aged children, such as Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis), Menactra (meningitis), Varicella (chicken pox), MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) and GARDASIL® (HPV). It is recommended that patients bring a copy of their vaccination record and medical history to the Take Care Clinic in preparation to receive a back-to-school physical.

“There are 35 serious, vaccine-preventable illnesses and a back-to-school or sports physical is a perfect opportunity to talk with a trusted health care provider about appropriate vaccinations,” said Amy Garcia, RN, MSN, executive director for the National Association of School Nurses. “Every visit to a health care provider should be viewed as a chance to protect children from serious and deadly disease.”

Back-to-school physicals at Take Care Clinics do not take the place of a child’s yearly health exam and complete developmental assessment. Take Care Health providers encourage all patients to have a primary care provider who can facilitate this long-term relationship. Patients are referred to a primary care provider if they do not have one. Visit records will be shared with a patient’s provider if requested and all patients will be given a copy of their visit record to share with other health care providers.


Children involved in organized athletics may also need a separate sports physical. Take Care nurse practitioners and physician assistants are highly educated to address sports-specific issues including injuries, nutrition, and more. Sports physicals are also available at Take Care Clinics for $35 through September 30. High school and middle school level, pre-participation sports physicals are not available at Take Care Clinics in Kansas.

Carmex Skin Care Review & Giveaway

Carmex is a name that I have known since I was little. My mom used it, so I used it. As a member of Carmex Blog Squad Team I was lucky enough to receive the chance to try the new Carmex Skin Care Line. The Skin Care Line includes Healing Lotion and Healing Cream. For me to do the review, Carmex sent me a Carmex Kit that included one tube of the Healing Lotion, one tube of the Healing Cream, 3 Carmex Moisture Plus sticks and a flavored collection of their core products in tube, stick, and jar. On top of that they have one of the kits reserved for one of my lucky readers that wins the giveaway that is below this review.

What’s My Opinion?

I used both the Healing Cream and Lotion for 5 days. I suffer from extremely dry spots that come on my hands from time to time and it usually takes a lot of moisturizer to get it smooth again. I used the Healing Cream on my driest spots on my hands and feet and after 5 days see an improvement. They feel soft again and not coarse like it was from the beginning of the review. It was not greasy, but I noticed that it makes my skin feel like silk after you put it on. I also like the scent of the Cream, it is very light and does not overwhelm you. I definitely see myself making this a staple in my skin care.

The Healing Lotion had the same light scent that did not take over your air space. I used this everyday and liked how quickly it absorbed. It did not leave a greasy residue behind that made you feel like you needed to shower after you put it on. I did use the lotion several times a day on my arms and hands, and like the way my skin felt after I put it on.

Overall, I was generally impressed with both the Healing Lotion and Cream. They both were not greasy feeling and made my skin feel great. I could see myself using this product long term. The packaging is simple with the classic Carmex yellow and red coloring but still you can tell that it is not your usual Carmex lip product.

Carmex Moisture Plus Tinted Lip Balms Review and Giveaway

Winter time is not a favorite time of the year for me because my skin gets mega dry and my lips tend to want to stay chapped. I have to apply some type of moisturizer several times a day to protect my lips from the dry air. I am lucky to be a member of the Carmex Blog Squad and get the chance to review new products. They recently contacted me and sent two of the new Carmex Moisture Plus Sheer Tint Lip Balms to try out. It comes in Sheer Pink, Sheer Peach, and Clear Stain Gloss Finish. What do I think about the Carmex Moisture Plus Sheer Tint Lip Balms? I love them. It makes my lips feel refreshed and renewed. Since I started using them I have noticed the dryness reducing. I normally find myself reapplying every 4 to 6 hours. I wear them alone, and then sometimes I apply them under my lipstick and then again on top of my lipstick and find that it makes my color last longer. The balms come in three tints: Sheer Pink, Sheer Peach, and Clear Satin Gloss Finish. Although the color is just a light tint, they are great for everyday wear. I do hope that they come out with new colors, preferably something in the brown or nude family. The tube it comes in is sleek and resembles some lipstick tubes and is compact enough to not take up a lot of space in my purse.   Now how can you get some for yourself? Start Making Money For Christmas 2010: Volume 3

As Christmas grows near people are running to find the perfect gift at an affordable price. Stores are racing to be the one you choose to shop with in store and online by offering deals. Did you know that you can make money by getting cash back on your purchases? There are sites that offer you a percentage of your total back if you shop at your favorite stores by linking through their website.

Ebates and Big Crumbs are both sites that are setup like an online mall. Once you become a member of either, you can start shopping. With Ebates there are two ways to find the store you want. First you can click on the type of merchandise in the right side bar of the site and it will give you a list of stores that have the category that you are looking for. Next, you can click on the Select A Store menu and look for the store alphabetically. There are major retailers such as: Land's End, eBay, Disney Store, Walmart, Walgreens,  and many more. You also will have access to any coupon codes the retailer currently has. Big Crumbs is also easy to find your desired store. You can click the shop tab at the top and choose the online retailers page or you can enter the store name in the search box that is at the top of the page. Big Crumbs has stores like Lane Bryant, Lego, Walmart, Target, and more.

As you can see they are quite similar websites. I would say belong to both since they are free in case there is a store that you want to shop at that is not listed on one of them and it's listed on the other.

There are many online cash back shopping websites, these are the ones that I use. There is no reason not to use sites like these if you are going to shop online, if you don't then you are cheating yourself out of money.

Come Check Out Savings Angel With A Free 3 Day Trial

Savings Angel is a site that I have been a media partner and member of since September of this year. The site makes it easier for the family that wants to save but does not have time to search for the latest deals and coupon match ups for their local stores.

If you are new to Savings Angel they have a library of tutorials to show you how to use the site so that you can maximize your savings. You will also receive a call from a mentor after you join to answer any questions that you have. Another benefit of being a member is that you can earn by referring new members to their site. This is a great way to offset the membership fee of Savings Angel. Membership is normally $19.95 for a 30 Days, but Savings Angel has given me the chance to offer my friends a FREE 3 Day Trial. Now if you decide to stay a member after the Free Trial, you can either extend your membership for 2 weeks for $5 or you can sign up for the regular membership fee (30 days) and get the second month (30 days) free. If you refer new members to the site you will get $5 per month for every month that they stay signed up for the 30 day membership.

Scenario

FREE 3 Day Trial + Join with 30 Day Membership Fee + Second Month FREE= $19.95 for a total of 63 Days of Membership

Refer 4 new members that sign up for 30 Day Membership = $20 Earned If They Stay Members

Difference between the two is that you earn $0.05 more than your membership cost so it is just like getting 63 Days of membership FREE

My Menu Plan for 2/23 through 3/1

I decided that I am going to post my meal plan each week on Monday.

Monday- Grilled BBQ Chicken Wings (I grilled outside in the 30 degree weather, we really wanted these wings). My local meat market had a special on them, I paid $ 1.00 a pound

Tuesday- One Pan Pleaser - I bought ground beef at the local meat market for $1.80 a pound & already had my velvetta block, cream of mushroom, and frozen mixed veggies.

Wednesday- Hamburgers

Thursday- Cheese and Vegetable Chowder with cornbread - I already had all of the ingredients in stock in my pantry- This is a crowd pleasing soup- kids love it

Friday- Homemade Sausage Pizza- I use the Pillsbury Pizza crust in a can for this. I make my own marinade and my daughter likes pork sausage on her pizza's (Found Kroger Brand roll for 1.80 and used 1/2 of it)

Saturday- Pork Chops (Got this in my Feb. Angelfood Ministries Order) smothered in homemade gravy

Sunday- Fried Chicken (having company over), I already had some on hand from last shopping trip.

My meat market had a few good deals this week. Besides my local meat market, we have a Save-A-Lot, Kroger, Super Walmart, and Walgreens.
