Make Money By Selling Your Kids Last Year's Halloween Costumes on eBay

Halloween Costumes can be real expensive if you buy them brand new and at the store (especially Disney costumes). One of the places that people look for costumes and their accessories is on eBay. You can list any costume that is in good condition on eBay to sell and make a profit. I do this every year and make a profit, except this year I gave my daughters last years costume to a child that was in need of one. This is a way to make some of the money you spend in the current year on costumes back. Last year I made enough to pay for the current years costume plus a profit of $5.

Here is a Disney Cinderella Costume that was started on a bid of $0.99 and the ending bid was $16.13.

Here is a Disney Toy Story Buzz Lightyear Costume that was started on a bid of $4.99 and ended the bid at $56.00.

When listing your costumes be sure to leave a good description of the condition and clear picture of the item. The buyer will want to know if it has any tears or flaws before they place a bid on your item. A minor flaw will not keep all buyers away. Another tip, let your buyers know if it comes from a pet free or smoke free home. A lot of buyers have allergies and will buy from a person that is making that promise faster than someone that says nothing about it. The more info you tell your buyers about the item the better.

When you list an item, it is important to know what price to list the item at. Terapeak is a site that offers a FREE service to eBay sellers that gives you a look at the average selling price and listing strategies for the item. You will want to not list your item any higher than the average selling price to ensure a chance of getting a buyer for your item. There is also a function to help you build the title for your listing.

All costumes will not bring a profit, but if you use Terapeak to check for the average selling price you will set yourself on the right road.

Happy Selling!

If you have listed a costume for sale on eBay this year leave a comment with the link to it and let us know how it did.

Make Extra Money as a Mystery Shopper

Today, I am proud to have a guest post written by Cathy Stucker, author of The Mystery Shoppers Manual. Her site offers a wealth of Mystery Shopping knnowledge that can guide a newbie down the path to becoming a strong Mystery Shopper and prove that Mystery Shopping can be a legit source of  extra income.

“Is mystery shopping a real way to make money, or is it just a scam?”

I get versions of that question all the time. There are scams out there that present themselves as mystery shopping opportunities; however, I have been a mystery shopper since 1995 and I have never been scammed. If you follow two simple rules, you won’t get scammed either.

You won’t get rich mystery shopping, but as a part-time or spare-time shopper you can earn a couple hundred dollars a month or more—maybe a lot more. It is a flexible and enjoyable way to make extra money.

So what is mystery shopping? Mystery shoppers pose as customers and evaluate all kinds of businesses—everything from restaurants to retail to movie theaters, auto dealerships, banks and more. Just about any organization that does business with the public may be mystery shopped, including government agencies.

To get started, sign up with as many legitimate mystery shopping companies as you can. When you get your first assignments, take them seriously and do a good job. That is how you will get more and better assignments.

And how do you know if a company is legitimate? That’s where my two simple rules come in:

Rule #1: Never pay to apply to or “join” any company. Mystery shopping companies do not charge you. The companies that want you to pay are usually not mystery shopping companies.

Rule #2: Never wire money to anyone you do not know. One common scam is to send a check or money order with instructions to “mystery shop” a few places, including wiring money to someone to evaluate the wire service. There are lots of variations on this scam in addition to the mystery shopping version, but the important thing to remember is that this is ALWAYS a scam, no matter what they call it. Sometime after the money is long gone, you will be notified by your bank that the checks were fakes, and you have to repay the money. You should never, ever wire money to a person you do not know for any reason.

Want to know the right way to become a mystery shopper I have lots of free information, including a list of 200 legitimate mystery shopping companies, at my blog, http://MysteryShoppersManual.com/.

Cathy Stucker has been a professional mystery shopper since 1995. She is the author of The Mystery Shopper’s Manual, the only book endorsed by the Mystery Shopping Providers Association.

Make Money By Sharing Your Opinions

Surveys are a great way to earn extra income. All that you have to do is to give your honest opinion. Survey sites are hired by companies to help them know more of what the consumers want and need by the answers they get from the surveys. Some of the survey sites offer compensation to the person taking the survey after completion. Depending on the site, compensation can come in a variety of ways. There are sites that offer payment by check, PayPal, e-gift codes, gift cards, or merchandise.

When you join a survey site there will be profile surveys that are important to fill out because they are what qualifies you for surveys that become available. If you do not take the time to fill them out you will run the risk of missing surveys. Another tip to remember when joining is that you will want to create a specific email address for all of your surveys to go to so that you can check it daily and only see surveys that are needed to be completed. This method has worked for me in the past. I used gmail to create an account.

Below is a list of survey sites that I have used in the past and had success with.

Give Your Opinions And Earn Extra Money

As said before in my previous post “Make Money By Completing Surveys”, you can earn extra cash by sharing your opinions with companies about products and services. These companies use the information gathered from surveys and use it to develop better products and services. They seek out sites like these to find people and gather information from people like us. A lot of these sites offer a financial compensation such as gift cards, checks, PayPal deposits, checks, or merchandise as a reward for completing surveys.

Epoll sends invites by email to any available surveys that match your profile answers. They reward you with your choice of PayPal deposits, Amazon e-gift codes, gift cards, and more. Each completed survey earns you points that you can cash in for those rewards.

Synovate also sends survey invites by email, although, you can also go to the site and login and find links to all of your available surveys. Completed surveys are rewarded with points that can be cashed in for a check.

IPSOS is another survey site that rewards it’s members that complete surveys with points. You can cash these points in for your choice of cash options or gift cards.

All survey sites have the same mission, to get honest and unrushed answers to the companies that pay them for their service. They are looking for people who want to share their opinions. As I said before, I suggest you to get an email address that is dedicated to your survey sites. This will help with finding your invites quickly. I hope this helps some of you find legit sites to earn from.

Money Making Opportunity: Surf The Web and Get Paid For It Using Be Ruby

DiggThisI have seen people talking about Be Ruby a lot recently and thought that I would check it out for myself. What I found was Be Ruby is a site that allows its members to make money by accessing sites through their personalized home page. After you join, you can set up your home page to have all of your favorite sites so that when you log in those sites will be right in front of you to start using the web. To personalize your home page, click the plus sign under the catagory and it will give you the list of the available sites. Once you find one that you want to appear on your home page you can click the green button beside it and then you will need to click apply. Now this site is new to me but it seems to be all over Twitter. It looks like you can also get cash back shopping from this site also. It is free to join and there are no toolbars or downloads required to use the site. Payment is sent by PayPal and you can request your payment once $10 confirmed balance is acquired. All you have to do to earn is to just simply log in to surf. I will update you as I see how it goes in a week.

If interested in the site you can join by clicking here.

(Disclosure: I'm a member of Be Ruby and if you join by using the link in this post I will receive commission for your activity. For more on my disclosure policy click here.)
