Why Do I Love Swagbucks?
Swagbucks is a search engine that randomly issues points for searches done by its members. The searches are powered by Google and Ask. As well as earning from random searches you can earn points by shopping from one of the stores in their database, by trading in video games, old cell phones, submitting an idea for a poll, and inviting your friends to join using your referral id. Swag Codes, which are like a promo code to get a free Swagbuck, can be found periodically in the Swagbucks blog and on the Swagbucks Twitter page. If you download the toolbar you will receive a Swag Code in the toolbar’s mailbox.
What do you use the points that you earn for? Swagbucks has a “Prize” store setup that has things from apparel, books, collectibles, gift cards, band swag, and more. You will find Amazon Gift Codes and a $5 PayPal gift in the gift card section. I use them for Amazon bucks to get my gifts for Christmas.
Check out Swagbucks today and remember not to abuse the site. Swagbucks is first and foremost a search engine and should be treated as such. Points will come to you if you use Swagbucks as much as you would Google.

In Honor of the 9/11 Tragedy...
I remember where I was on that tragic day. I was sitting in my favorite chair and watching the Today show (I had not had a day off in 2 weeks that day and was looking to relax) when the unthinkable happened. I remember they were in the middle of a news story and then they broke verse and said in a panic that a plane had just hit the World Trade Center. I remember the media panic that ensued and then there was word that planes where being hijacked. It was like the world was in an action movie at it's climax, only the victims were not actors they were someone's husband, wife, mother, son, father, and daughter. It is sad to think of all of the innocent people who were trapped in the buildings and died and the emergency workers that gave their life trying to save everyone.
Before my daughter left for school today I showed her this website of poems that were written by people who were affected by the 9/11 event. Click Here to see some of the most touching poems that you will here.
To all of our nations heros, thanks for what you do everyday to keep us safe.

What Do You Do With Your Expired Coupons?
If you are a person that collects coupons, you know how discouraging it is to throw all of the expired coupons in the garbage every month. I recently came across a blog called ,"The Happy Housewife". In 2008 she started a program called "Coupons For Troops". This program is designed to pair someone here in the states with a military family that is currently stationed overseas. The commissaries that the military families shop at accepts coupons that are expired up to 6 months. This will help their families save money since the prices are higher than what they would pay if they were in the states. So let's all pitch in and help the families by sending our expired coupons to them. Click one of the links in this post to find out more info on how to get involved.

Save Money By Swapping Books, Cds, & DVDs
If you like to read books, watch movies, or listen to music you are in luck. There is a group of sites that make it possible to swap your books, CDs, and movies with each other. You can belong to them all and save money in the process. I average a savings around $60 a month by using these services.
Think of the money that you will save by using these sites. It is definitely worth looking at and joining, since all are free to signup. Click on the banners to go to the site of your choice.
Paperback Swap is a site where you can swap paperback, hardback, or audio books for free. Paperback Swap works off of “credits”. You can earn one credit by listing your first 10 books (don’t worry if you don’t have 10 to list at first). Other ways to earn credits is when you send out a book to someone and they list it as received or if you refer someone to Paperback Swap. If you don’t want to wait till you earn a credit, you can also get credits by purchasing them through the kiosk (located in the toolbar of the site). Each paperback or hardback book cost 1 credit and audio books cost 2 credits. If you don’t find the book that you are looking for you can create a “Wish List” and when someone list something that is on your list you will get an email letting you know about it.
Like Paperback Swap, Swap A DVD is free to use if you earn credits by posting 10 DVDs, sending books to others and they mark it received, or if you refer someone to the site. You also can purchase credits through the kiosk if you don’t want to wait to earn them. Most DVDs can be ordered for 1 credit. If you don’t find the DVD that you are looking for you can create a “Wish List” and when someone list something that is on your list you will get an email letting you know about it. There is a huge variety of DVDs to choose from.
You earn credits the same way on Swap A CD as you do the others. The only difference in Swap A CD is that when you order a CD it cost 1 credit and 49cents from “Swap A CD Money" account. You can add some money to this account by Paypal.
Shipping for all of these are easy. You can print a mailer package for each book, CD, or DVD that you send out straight from the websites. You as the sender will be responsible for the shipping cost. Shipping normally runs below $3 for each package.
Think of the money that you will save by using these sites. It is definitely worth looking at and joining, since all are free to signup. Click on the banners to go to the site of your choice.

Do You Watch the Duggars?
I am not a big reality show fan. In fact, the only two reality show I watch is American Idol and 18 and Counting. One night about a year ago I flipped past TLC and ended up watching the Duggar Family. I just heard today that Michelle is pregnant with her 19th child. Could you imagine having that many children running around the house at once. WOW! Jim Bob and Michelle are also about to become first time grandparents. For those of you who are not familiar with the family, they have been married for 25 years and have 10 boys and 8 girls along with one daughter-in-law. I am amazed at how they can cook for all as well as take care of all of their needs. They also have built a home debt free! I think a lot of families out there can learn from them. If you watch them you can see the love and support that they give to each other and the interest that Jim Bob and Michelle show in their children learning everything they need to know to lead a good life. With other reality horror shows out there I give kuddos to TLC for showcasing a family that are great role models.
