9Lives Advanced Nutrient System Giveaway and Review

For all you cat lover's out there, I don't have to tell you how important their health is and how much what they eat means for their well-being. I was lucky enough to be given a 9Lives Advanced Nutrient System Prize Pack from 9Lives through My Blog Spark. The prize pack contained a package of the 9Lives Daily Essentials dry food, a magnetic frame, pet food scoop, and cat toys. I received this last Friday and immediately started using it. My cats all seem to love the dry cat food, matter of fact they all clean their bowls pretty fast. They have in the past been picky eaters. I went to the store yesterday and got another bag of it. I also put out the toys for them to play with and they love the squeaky toy that we received so much so that they fight each other for it.  I would definitely say that the prize pack was a hit in my house.

Here is some info that was provided for me to share with you.

A survey of feline pet parents across the country commissioned by 9Lives found that an overwhelming 94 percent of cat owners are confident they feed their felines the most nutritious meals possible. However, nearly half (48 percent) admit they’ve fed their cats table scraps – which do not provide the essential nutrients cats need – an average seven times per month. Additionally, only 30 percent know that giving your cat milk may not be a healthy practice due to the common incidence of lactose intolerance in adult cats.1

Additional findings include:
23% of American pet parents think it’s beneficial to keep their cats on a purely vegetarian diet, while actually it may be harmful2

There are a number of foods that feline parents assume are healthy for cats, but are actually not advantageous to their health including root vegetables (73%), green tomatoes (54%), and raw potatoes (50%)3

Nine out of ten feline pet parents would be willing to switch foods if they knew it would provide better nutrition. In fact:

  • 92 percent of cat owners would switch foods if it would improve their cat’s health, and
  • 91 percent would switch food if they could add years onto their feline’s life

In an effort to educate pet parents about the common misperceptions of proper feline nutrition, 9Lives is committed to raising awareness to this issue by providing advanced nutrition for all cats. With the 9Lives Advanced Nutrient System, feline parents everywhere can rest assured knowing their cats are getting the essential nutrients they need to help promote healthy skin and coat, strong muscle growth and a healthy immune system among other benefits.

Crayola Green Back-To-School Prize Pack Review and Giveaway

Crayola is a brand that has been big in my life and my daughter's. I can remember when I was a kid and would color for hours sitting in the living room floor. Now my daughter spends hours coloring sitting at the dining room table. That's why when I had the opportunity to review a Crayola Green Back-To-School Prize pack I jumped on the chance. I personally think that it is neat that they are showing the kids of today that it is a "neat" thing to do their part to save the enviroment. Even with the changes to make it more "green" the colors are still just as vibrant as they always have been. My daughter made the statement that she can't tell any difference in their performance. She even put them in her backpack to take to school to use.

Below is some info and a video that was provided to me to share with you.

Crayola is getting greener this back-to-school season and it´s not by creating a new color to join shades like screamin´ green and granny smith apple!

By using solar power, reducing waste and protecting the rainforest, Crayola is doing its part to ensure that the inspired kids of today grow up to inspire a healthier world.

As part of Crayola´s ever-evolving green initiative, this back-to-school season, Crayola is making crayons with solar power, markers from recycled bottle caps and colored pencils from reforested wood.

Crayola crayons, markers and colored pencils getting greener is extra good news for parents. You can feel even better about Crayola products because you are supporting a brand that cares very much about kids and the environment and you´ll still get the same great quality and colors at the same price! So while sometimes environmentally-friendly products cost families more green, not so with Crayola!

You might have noticed while you were doing your back-to-school shopping that packages of Crayola crayons, markers and colored pencils have special icons calling out the way each product is lessening its impact on the environment. These affordable and "green" back-to-school essentials include:

  • Crayola Markers - Thanks to new, innovative ways to manufacture Crayola markers from recycled bottle caps, "black" is the new "green!" Crayola markers will now have black barrels instead of white, which allows for more recycled plastic to be used and gives a second life to more than 1 million pounds of plastic bottle caps. Plus, switching to black barrels keeps hundreds of tons of plastic out of landfills each year. Available in 10-ct. Broadline Classic Colors, 10-ct. Broadline Assorted Colors, 10-ct. Fineline Classic Colors, 8-ct. Washable Broadline and 8-ct. Washable Fineline.

  • Crayola Green 24-ct. Crayons - The quintessential school supply found in virtually every elementary classroom will be made with the power of the sun. More than 26,200 solar panels will convert sunlight into electricity, generating the energy required to make 1 billion of the 3 billion crayons Crayola makes each year, which equals 60 million 24-ct. boxes. Mother Earth will be smiling down on every forest green, pine green and jungle green crayon that rolls off the assembly line!

  • Crayola Green Colored Pencils - Committed to protecting the rain forests since 1987, all Crayola colored pencils have been made from reforested wood instead of wood sourced from tropical rainforest or endangered species. For every tree used, a new tree of the same species is planted. The 12-, 24-, 36-, and 50-ct. boxes of Crayola Colored Pencils will be among the first to carry the "Eco-Evolution" callout on their packaging.

Penguins Of Madagascar Prize Pack Giveaway

In our house cereal is king in the morning. So, I was happy to get the chance to receive a Penguins Of Madagascar Prize Pack (shown in picture) from General Mills and Nickelodeon through My Blog Spark. This prize pack includes one box of Trix cereal, a Penguins of Madagascar launcher and the new Penguins of Madagascar movie, The Penguins of Madagascar Operation: DVD Premier. My daughter absolutely loves these adorable penguins and was thrilled that we got to participate. Her favorite character is Skipper. This was also her first time to try Trix and she has found a new cereal that she wants me to keep in supply.

Inside specially marked boxes of General Mills cereals, you’ll “commence operations” with one of five characters from The Penguins of Madagascar; Skipper, Rico, Kowalski, Private or King Julien. Each participating cereal contains one character launcher with mission details outlined on the back of the box including:

Dive In, Soldier – Set an empty plastic cereal bowl on the table and try to pop your launcher into it. Wear a helmet or you’ll be squid bait.

Longest Propulsion Launcher – Challenge your troops to see who can launch their character the furthest. Go long or go back to the zoo.

Target Practice – Create a landing zone with a spoon and try to strategically drop your character into the sweet spot. Hit the target or go back to the drawing board.

Clear the Wall – Do you have enough projectile pop to push your launcher over the top of the box? Proceed launchin’ troops, earn those wings!

Each character is unique and has their own specific role, and together, they’re a team with lots of character. With five character launchers to collect, make a splash this summer and try to successfully complete all of their missions.
