I have seen people talking about Be Ruby a lot recently and thought that I would check it out for myself. What I found was Be Ruby is a site that allows its members to make money by accessing sites through their personalized home page. After you join, you can set up your home page to have all of your favorite sites so that when you log in those sites will be right in front of you to start using the web. To personalize your home page, click the plus sign under the catagory and it will give you the list of the available sites. Once you find one that you want to appear on your home page you can click the green button beside it and then you will need to click apply. Now this site is new to me but it seems to be all over Twitter. It looks like you can also get cash back shopping from this site also. It is free to join and there are no toolbars or downloads required to use the site. Payment is sent by PayPal and you can request your payment once $10 confirmed balance is acquired. How To Get Traffic To Your Blog: Amazon Kindle Store

I have found a new way to bring traffic to your blogs and make some extra income while doing it. How many people do you know that uses a Kindle? I know at least 5 people that use one. For those who are not sure what a Kindle is, it is an electronic portable reading device that allows you to read books, newspapers, magazines, and blogs wirelessly. You don’t even have to have a computer.

Did you know that if your blog is listed with Kindle Publishing they can subscribe to your blog through their Kindle? The Amazon Kindle Store will charge Kindle users for each blog they subscribe to. This is where the extra income comes into play. As the blog owner you will receive 30% of each monthly blog subscription your blog has. You can also have more than one blog listed.

It is free for blog owners to join and add their blogs to the service. All that you have to do is to create an account and make sure that you fill out the account info page. Once that is completed enter your blog information by simply clicking “Add A Blog”. Here it will ask you for a description of your blog, the URL for the blogs RSS Feed, your blog tagline, a screenshot of your blog, your blog’s URL, and some keywords that users would associate with your blog for searchable ability. My blog was published quickly but the promise they make is within 72 hours after submitting your blog it will become published.

Since it is a free service for blog owners, you won’t lose anything by adding this to your list of traffic generating ideas.

Opening my mailbox has become fun over the past year. It is fun to see what free samples are waiting for me. Most of my freebies come from me finding the links to signup for them through Shop4Freebies.com. I first found Shop4freebies.com a little over a year ago and visit it daily to see what new free samples are available. The list is updated daily with 100% Free Samples and to remind you of it daily, you can join their free newsletter. There is no required membership to click the free sample links and the site is for United States residents only.

The free samples are listed by categories and the newest are the first to show when you bring up their home page. The categories include food, drinks, pets, health, beauty, and more. To sign up for a free sample that you see on Shop4Freebies.com just click on the “Grab This Now” button and the signup page will load in a separate window for the freebie selected. While you are there, rate the freebies that you sign up for by clicking the “Rate This Freebie” option.Shop4Freebies.com likes to hear from you.

You can also use their site to find the cheapest gas prices in your area by clicking the tab at the top of the page, “Cheapest Gas Prices”. All that you have to do is enter your zip code and it will give you a list of the local gas stations and their prices and  Shop4freebies.com  has a tab, found at the top of the page, to print coupons and they also offer tips on how to save money (link is found in the left sidebar of the site). These coupons are free to print.

When you go to the site check out the Shop4Freebies.com Forum (link found at the top of the page). Members list any other finds that they come across for other viewers to take advantage of.

In a nutshell, Shop4Freebies.com is a site that I personally check daily from my newsletter link. All of the freebies that I have signed up for were, as promised, 100% free with no strings attached. I have found some great products that I liked so much that I buy the items still today. Don't miss a chance to try a new product that is offering a free sample to consumers. How To Get Traffic For Your Blog: Digg

Getting your blog noticed can be tricky without the right know how and tools. Blogging has become more than just writing your deepest thoughts on a web page. People use blogs for feedback and promotion. In order to get traffic success, you have to get the word out about your blog. No traffic would be like standing on a mountain top and screaming with no one to hear you. There are many avenues to promote traffic to your blog. Here is another site that many bloggers have had luck with.

Digg , a social bookmarking site, has become a force on the internet. I have seen many bloggers speak about how Digg has helped them gain traffic.
Here is how to get started:
1. Create an account and complete your profile using the settings feature on the profile page. When in the settings screen, look under your profile picture and click the link to “Customize Topics” and “Viewing Preference“. This will help others match up to your interest and will help you gain friends on Digg.

2. Now start by choosing articles that have already been “dugg” to get practice on how the system works. You will know when your “digg” took when you see the “digg” count go up.

3. Start to add sites that you think the Digg Community would like. Make sure to have a good title and description to draw others to read the article.

4. As you start to “digg” sites, start to add friends by checking out the profiles of the submitters of the sites and then if they have your interest you can click “Add Friend” link. When you do this they will receive a fan notice and have the option to add you as a friend also.

5. Last tip is not to get in the habit of digging your own articles. Digg staff keeps a watch on this and will consider you a spammer and delete your account. To help your articles get a “digg” post a digg button on each post and if your readers think that it is share worthy they will digg it for you.

Don’t get discouraged and give up, it takes time to build up traffic. Tomorrow I will post about another option to bring traffic to your blog.

How to get Traffic for Your Blog: Stumble Upon

Have you ever been on the interstate during rush hour with bumper to bumper traffic, wishing you were anywhere but there? “Traffic” is a word that makes most people cringe at the thought of it, but to a blogger “traffic” means that people are interested in what you have to say. Traffic is a reason for a blogger to keep posting more and more to keep the attention of the blog’s followers.

When I started this blog, I had not blogged before. Well, I had started one about a year ago and never did anything with it. I am determined to keep this blog going and interesting for my readers. I have started using methods to gain more traffic for the blog and as I went through a few of them, I thought about my readers who are going through the same trials and tribulations of blogging. So, I am going to share some ways in the next few days that I have found that appear to work.


 Stumble Upon is something that I heard about 2 years ago but never really paid it any attention. About 6 months ago, I saw someone talking on a forum about how Stumble Upon helped their site traffic, so that got me to rethinking joining the site.


Stumble Upon is a social network community based site that allows it’s members to rate websites, videos, and photos that they would like to share with their fellow members with the click of a button that can be found on their toolbar. You can give websites a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down” and review sites so that members can see how the site would benefit them.

How can a blogger get started benefiting from Stumble Upon?

1. Open an account and establish a profile that includes a brief profile, picture, and your interest.

2. Download the Stumble Upon toolbar. This is a necessity. You will use it to stumble and give your “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” and brief review of websites. When you click “I like it” in the toolbar for a website, a pop-up screen will appear to allow you to give you review and place appropriate tags so that other stumblers will find it.

3. Make sure to try to stumble daily. Ever heard of the phrase, “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours”? That applies to Stumble Upon in the fact that you are going to get traffic from the site so you need to give back to the members and stumble their sites.

4. Don’t continually stumble your own work. That is a form of spam. It is o.k. to do this once in a while but not everyday. If you have the Stumble Upon badge on your site, people will stumble your site for you.

5. As you get going make some Stumble Upon Friends. This is another way that you can share post and updates with the site by sending a link to you friends on Stumble Upon. That will give it a chance to be stumbled.

Remember, like anything else, it takes time and effort to benefit from Stumble Upon. It will take patience and participation from you.

Our Coldest Temps So Far For This Season

Wow, the weather has taken a turn toward extreme cold and is holding it there. Overnight last night we had a dusting of snow (less than 1 inch) and the temps seem to fall further. We are expecting a temp tonight of 10 degrees and tomorrow night a temp of 8 degrees. Our area is not used to this kind of weather so our schools closed today. Boy, I am ready for Spring already, lol. I think this is the coldest winter that we have had in awhile.
